Young People - Our Future

Petworth Vision is committed to helping young people reach their maximum potential.  We do this by introducing them to local businesses within Petworth and the surrounding areas.  They meet business owners who give an account of their experiences running a business and speak to employees to learn more about their roles. This leads to discussions about potential opportunities available when they leave school. The future of Petworth depends on these young people choosing to live and work in the area by recognising what the town has to offer and believing in its vision.

Education & Business

For the past two years Petworth Vision has facilitated visits by Petworth Primary School to local businesses. This gives them an opportunity to learn more about where they live and the types of businesses Petworth has to offer. These visits have proved very popular both for the students and the businesses who enjoy welcoming these youngsters into their shops.

Sharing Skills

Petworth Primary School pupils also shared their skills with the senior pupils who attended our Computer Skills for Seniors Training early 2018. Feedback from the more senior students confirmed how much they enjoyed having the youngsters on hand to help them solve their IT problems.

“Having the pupils drop into the sessions was brilliant. They were so helpful and a delight to have around”.

Dare to Dream

During the 2021/22 academic year Petworth Vision are delighted to support Dare to Dream and are hoping to bring ‘Jack the Lad’ to our local schools.  We are seeking to raise £5,000 to do this and would appreciate your help.  Whether you’re a business or an individual your donation could make this happen.

Jack the Lad, a well-known local radio celebrity who hosted the HeartFM Breakfast Show for 15 years and is now on air with MoreRadio runs the programme. During the 2019/20 academic year Jack delivered to 7,500 local young people running conferences, seminars and facilitating classroom sessions designed to help and truly inspire our local next generation. We hope he can do the same in 2022.

We cannot do this vital work without the support and funding from local businesses and individuals. If you would like to make a difference and help a student achieve their maximum potential please get in touch.
